The Fringe is fit to bursting this year in all the nooks and all the secret spaces of the festival. Explore and discover the exciting creatures and activities throughout the festival that gives Cornucopia its signature flavour.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy our Courtyard Stage, introducing great new acts and buskers, hear some fresh music and see them here first!
A great addition to the 2016 line up are ariel trapeze artists straight form the circus. Hopefully there will be more than one of them or else it is going to be an extremely short show. Exciting, but very quick!
Up Close and Personal Magic
Close up magic is in the air and wandering around Cornucopia Festival. Prepare to be amazed and astonished!
Hot Air Balloons
This year we are really excited to have with us some of the hot air balloons from the Pennine Region Balloon Association with a wonderful spectacular tethered night time balloon display. Weather permitting of course. If it is too windy they will end up doing this somewhere off the coast of Norway and then they will want a lift home.
An exciting light show will fill the festival with vibrant mist and dancing shadows. Anybody who went through the excesses of the sixties and survived should be right at home here. Those of you who are too young to remember can now find out why Grandma is so strange sometimes.
Feel the magic on a wonderful mystery walking tour led by Rusticus around the grounds of Burton Constable. This site-specific interactive family performance blends storytelling, music and craft to create a magical family memory.
What’s more fun than a game of Jenga? A GIANT game of Jenga! Challenge your friends and family at our giant games area, there will be more than enough to go around! With 20+ activities, including air hockey, giant Ludo, giant Dominoes and table football, the fun will never end!
World's Smallest Stage!
Enjoy the novelty of The World’s Smallest Stage, so tiny it can fit in a phone box! Dance like nobody’s watching at your own private concert.
In aid of our initiative to create an experience based event, we are sprucing up the whole festival. Judy’s Attic are decorating throughout, creating an atmosphere of fun and colour, with local artists and craft-workers joining forces to make the experience unforgettable! There's also interactive craft sessions to get stuck into, including felt-work, weaving ansd colouring, to name but a few of the wonderful workshops on offer.
No matter how rough your week was, Buzz Comedy is guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Grab a beer and come and see the comedy legend that has launched the careers of Bill Bailey, Jason Manford and Harry Hill, to name but a few.
Burton Constable's Grounds!
Not only can you enjoy the festival, your ticket grants you access to the beautiful gardens and grounds of the Burton Constable Estate! Including over 300 acres of historic grade II listed parkland, woodland and gardens, it’s a beautiful place to walk, bird-watch, picnic or just take in the natural beauty of the area.
Be careful not to tramp over any bridges, there are trolls on the loose! Meet our famous Cornucopia Trolls, take a picture, have a chat or even cash in on a free hug!
There's plenty of local flavour in the Fringe with an old favourite, Captain Kipper making an appearance. Come and join Captan Kipper, along with his merry band of puppet pirates for a swash-buckling good time! A time-tested family favorite!
Burton Constable's Tea Room and Gift Shop!
Whether you are spending the day or just passing by, the Stables Tearoom is a welcoming break for morning coffees, light lunches and delicious afternoon teas all freshly prepared and baked on the premises. Tickets will also grant their owners entrance to the Burton Constable Gift Shop, which is fit to bursting with all sorts of goodies!
Why not come along to our star party, it’s out of this world! Join our enthusiastic astronomers for a night to remember under the stars, try your hand with a telescope or come and learn something new at one of their scheduled talks.
Come and admire the local talent of our artists, there are exhibitions, craft stalls and even some decorated garden sheds to explore!
Come and try your hand at archery and see if you are a secret Robin Hood, or more of a Friar Tuck.
There are workshops to suit every ability this year at Cornucopia! If you have no experience yet would love to experiment, have no fear! Rambo Jambo is hosting a Latino workshop that teaches participants from the very beginning. Hull Samba are also offering drumming workshops, come along and have a go! For the budding musicians among you, the Jaywalkers are holding a more technical workshop with heavy Bluegrass influences.
